A broadcast veteran of nineteen years, I have been behind the microphone in four different states and have broadcast no less than eight different sports and four state championship games in a career that started as a freshman at Groesbeck High School in Groesbeck, Texas.  From my start as football halftime host on KYCX radio to my move to the Midwest and everything in between, I have put my heart and soul into sports broadcasting, a passion that dates all the way back to 1995, as a kindergarten student who would write NFL scores on the classroom chalkboard every Monday.

That passion led to an opportunity at the age of 14, when my dear friend, Byron "Putt" Riddle, invited me to tag along for a football prediction show in Mexia, Texas.  Unexpectedly, I was given the microphone to talk about a Monday Night Football game featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and running back Priest Holmes, who I believed would carry KC to a win that evening, and I've been close to a microphone ever since.

Upon graduating from Groesbeck HS in 2008, I advanced my career to the Waco, Texas area where I had the opportunity to broadcast three consecutive UIL state softball tournaments, including two class AAA state championship games in Austin.  I also had the opportunity to be on the call for the 2012 class AAA baseball state championship game.  I then moved onto hosting a weekly Texas High School Football preview podcast that turned into a year-round three hour show on K-MAC Sports thanks to the confidence that company owner Chuck Licata had in me and with the help of several broadcasters, coaches, and more.

In 2016, it was time to leave Texas for a different challenge, and so I accepted the Director of Broadcasting position with the expansion Rockford Rivets of the Northwoods Summer Collegiate Baseball League.  To this day, I still call that summer the single best professional experience of my career.

That opportunity led to another, as I became the Play-by-Play voice of Bemidji State University Men's and Women's basketball for the 2016-17 season.  I am currently the Sports Director at KZTK-FM 103.9 in Casselton, North Dakota.

Through all of my experiences, one goal has always stood above the rest, to become the lead broadcaster at a major NCAA Division I University someday.  It is a goal that I still hold today, and I continue to work tirelessly for every broadcast because you never know who may be listening.

On this site, you can find my personal resume as well as my references.  There is also a page dedicated to my on-air work, which will continue to be added to.  I am always available at 218-553-1246 (cell number) or via email at bjwalters102189@gmail.com as I continue to pursue my career in this wonderful profession.
